Buying a short sale

I love this house.  I really do.  But I’m starting to wonder if buying a short sale was not a smart choice.  The tentative closing date they gave me is May 17th.  That seems like a really long time to wait.

It’s frustrating because my commute time between kiddos I see has increased a lot, and this house is really supposed to help with the commute, but if I have to wait 6 weeks to move well that is frustrating.  I do not want to have to drive 300 miles a week for the next 6 weeks.

It is a little ugly

ImageImage ImageI am so excited about my new house.  Signing lots of paperwork and hopefully getting a closing date tomorrow.  The first one they proposed is May 17th, and that is just unacceptable to me.  The house is empty, and I don’t want it sitting empty for almost two months.

But it is going to be a lot of work to make this house pretty.  A single guy was living in it, and well it needs some help.Image

Home inspection

I have to say I love my realtor. She has an awesome sense of humor, and she is just much more fun to be around than the first one.
The home inspection was this week. Thankfully nothing major is wrong with my cute little house. So now I’m waiting on the bank guys to tell me the paperwork is all set so I can sign it. I am really looking forward to moving so I’m hoping to get all of this stuff signed soon. This process is a lot longer and more complicated than I had imagined.
I am learning a new meaning of patience.

Hopefully good news

A house I really liked is back on the market so I’m optimistic. Maybe I can go look it tomorrow? Fingers crossed because I need some good news.
Looking is super frustrating. And to pour salt in the wound of a terrible break up my brother is going to ask his girlfriend to marry him.
